I’m Kate Jay, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), Certified AIP Coach Practitioner, Certified Gluten Practitioner (CGP) and trained Chef. I’m also passionate about helping you reach your health goals by using nutrient dense, whole foods as medicine.
The last thing you want to deal with is weak digestion, low energy, joint pain, rubbish sleep, food cravings and the dreaded mid afternoon slump. You don’t need fatigue when it’s time to get up, only to feel wired when it’s time to go to bed. Same goes for a bunch of hormones jumping around all over the place. And you definitely shouldn’t be frustrated, isolated by restrictions and feel like nobody “gets you”. But if that sounds familiar, guess what? I’ve been there, done that and YES! I “get” you!
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner – I have been trained to look at the body as a whole, rather than just a collection of symptoms. I know how the body is designed to function and what can go wrong when those links are broken. I use a series of in-depth intake forms to get a really clear picture of where your health priorities lie and then I work closely with you to bring balance back to the body. I do this by using dietary and lifestyle interventions, and targeted supplementation where helpful. For those able to consult in a clinical setting in Vancouver, I do a hands-on functional evaluation and lingual neuro testing, a process that takes advantage of the body’s innate intelligence to say what it needs in order to heal.
As an AIP Coach – I am qualified to help you transition to, and navigate the Autoimmune Protocol. The AIP is designed to empower those living with autoimmune disease by removing the main stressors to the gut. At the same time it is crucial to add foods in that are high in nutrients. There are also lifestyle changes such as aiming for improved sleep, moderate exercise and self care. We shall implement the protocol at your preferred speed so you’ll never feel overwhelmed. My customized 30-day meal plan will help make this transition easy for you (not to mention tasty) so all you need to do is concentrate on healing. I can help guide you through the reintroduction process and will be there to troubleshoot should the time arise. In other words, I will support you every step of the way.
I also have experience with the GAPS diet, as developed by Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride.
I work one-on-one with my clients to improve their digestion, curb cravings, resolve food sensitivities, and reduce symptoms. Together we’ll work as a team – you could say I’m in the passenger seat with the road map, and you’re the driver! I take a holistic approach to your health. I don’t want to put a band-aid on your symptoms, I want to peel away the layers of them and dig deep to find the root cause. You’ll receive a protocol that removes overwhelm, and brings you back into balance. I’ll give you guidance, support, motivation and accountability, so you can learn how to take control and enjoy happy, energetic and lasting health.
I specialise in gut health, which encompasses getting to the root cause of :
all digestive problems
balancing blood sugar and busting cravings
food and environmental allergies/sensitivities
I live in Vancouver, BC and can meet in person. Alternatively I work virtually with clients all over the globe. You can read my story here.
I am also a licensed instructor of The RESTART® Program a 5-week course that takes place in small groups, either in person (Vancouver) or online. Designed to give your body a vacation from sugar and processed foods, it is part nutritional education, part sugar detox and part group support – an empowering combination! More details here.
I offer a FREE 20 minute informational consult so you can tell me about your health concerns, and I can tell you how I can help. If you’re ready, I look forward to hearing from you.
