As summer draws to its close, you can never go wrong with berries, mint and apple cider vinegar. Here's a perfect recipe for those tail-end berries that look in need of attention. You know - those blink and they're gone types!
I rarely have sweeteners these days since my body doesn't too well on them. I find they start a chain reaction of carb chasing which I only end up regretting and let's face it, I'm in this to heal and sugar offers an uphill battle. But berries, which are low in sugar, are crammed with antioxidants so they're really helpful. Blueberries are high in dopamine which is a neurotransmitter that determines our feel good factor. Healthy neurotransmitters, but the way, are crucial for optimal brain health. When we're deficient in dopamine we can have self destructive thoughts, so you could say that blueberries are a great little addition to our mental health cabinet.
This recipe is a little bit (naturally) sweet, a little bit sour and a helluva lot satisfactory. Together with ice, you can make the most amazing crush, sorbet or thickened ice cold drink. However you serve it, just be sure you don't miss out!
