HEALING EATS: 25 RECIPES TO HEAL THE GUT WHILE SOOTHING THE SOUL
Healing Eats has been created around the knowledge that certain ingredients are known to be anti-inflammatory and healing foods to eat. These include spices such as turmeric, ginger, cinnamon; sulphur rich, cruciferous and leafy green rainbow vegetables; bitter leaves, herbs and sea vegetables; prebiotic tigernut; probiotic quick pickles; raw honey and calcium/iron rich blackstrap molasses.
ABOUT THIS E-BOOK
Healing Eats is a collection of my family-favourite recipes. I am passionate about cramming in as many nutrients as possible each meal time. Every recipe is a balance of flavours and textures, as well as being easy, quick and straightforward to make. Your days of preparing special food just for yourself are over - with these recipes everyone will want to join in.
When we embark on a healing protocol in order to lessen the signs and symptoms of dysfunction, we need to remove the stressors from our lives, several of which will be found on our plates. By eliminating those foods known to cause irritation to the digestive tract we can calm our immune system and relieve symptoms. However the wellbeing comes from what we add in. There are so many foods and ingredients that could be called 'healing', however I have taken those that I identify with most, and created recipes built around them.
This 76 page e-book consists of 25 recipes, divided into five chapters: Healing Bowls, Healing Dishes, Healing Plates, Healing Treats and Healing Cups, and each recipe is focused on adding nutrients to the diet to aid the healing process.
All recipes are fully compliant with the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP), Paleo and Wahls Paleo diets, 20 of these recipes are GAPS/SCD friendly, 19 are Whole30 and a small number are low FODMAP and low histamine. All are labelled with the diets they are suitable for.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kate Jay is the author behind the blog, Healing Family Eats, where she shares the recipes she feeds her family on their journey to better health. A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Certified AIP Coach and trained chef, she is passionate about making each meal nutrient dense, without sacrificing flavour or spending hours in the kitchen.
Diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1997, Kate started to experience joint swelling and pain in early 2014. Her husband and children also have inflammatory issues so the whole family use the AIP and GAPS together with great success.
Originally from London England, Kate now lives in Vancouver BC with her husband, two teenage children and Alfie the cat. When she's not in the kitchen testing recipes, she can be found cycling with the family or sampling seasonal delights at the local farmers' market.
